Celebrated my Twenty-Twelfth Birthday (per Ethan) in style this year -- unfrosted box mix chocolate cake and all! (Can you tell Annie wasn't around... sniff sniff... she was in Idaho for Shaun's wedding the next day)!

It's probably occurred to some of you to wonder who I'm spending all this time away from home with -- well, tonight we had a BBQ over at the Big Cheese's house and I seized the opportunity to introduce some of my coworkes (coresidents and faculty especially). This isn't even half of them, but that's better than none, right?



And, although this doesn't come out on the video, for interest's sake, I find it odd that 8 of the 17 oral surgery residents are from Canada (Victoria, Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary x2, Montreal, Toronto x2) as is one of the five full-time faculty members!

As of about three weeks ago, we are new homeowners! Sorry with how long it took to post anything about it -- residency has been busy...

It's a 1246 sq. ft. bungalow w/ unfinished basement. 3 beds, 2.5 baths. Hardwood floors throughout except in the master bedroom addition. Nice little front and back yard. We're really happy with it, and very grateful we were able to purchase it. Hurrah for us!

Most of you already know how hot my wife is, but for those of you random blog readers who happen to stumble upon my little Speck, I'd hate to leave you with only the paparazzi shot of her on the sidebar!

So Much to Say, So Little Time!

The next year in Ann Arbor seems like it's going to be a busy one. Surgery (or, rather, interning) looks like it's going to be a busy job, with hardly enough time to sleep, eat, and take care of the family, much less blog!

Enough of that though -- at least we ended off our time in Edmonton with a bang, as all the Tangs gathered together for a family reunion (in part made possible by the Wongs' willingness to host us!).


Among all the activities -- the Waterpark, a Chinese dinner out, dim sum, visiting mama's gravesite, the zoo, Hawrelak Park, James's baby blessing and a quadruple birthday party -- one of the most memorable moments happened as we were all sitting around listening to mom regale us with stories from her travels (sorry -- inside joke: I'm under strict instructions not to divulge any further info -- guess you had to be there!).
